OK, guys, here's a deal to ponder: I have to go to DC for work in June. I need to attend a conference on Monday 6/16 thru Wed 6/18. I have a room already - I could easily add a few days earlier and fly fly down on Friday June 13 and we could smash the Capitol for a few days.
We just took a family vacation there (DC) in April - and after the 12 hours drive, we had a blast. ITs a great city to see and lots of history, architecture, clean streets, and plenty of buzz.
Anyone up for a few days of RELAX in Washington, mid June?
I know its hard to peel away from the job and the family. the kids, the rut. We ain't gettin' any younger. Think about it - after my April trip I now know the subway - called "The Metro", I found the irish pub, I know where the armed guards with M-16 rifles hangout around the capitol, and I've got an old college buddy there who could show us some fun as well. Tell me who's in and I can make arrangements - no need for a car,the trains go everywhere. This could be fun!

JP, we have to talk on the phone to get me back on this blog. I have access to other blogs, but not this one.
I'll call this weekend.
Peace out!
TEXACO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BB, I can't come. As much as it kills me to say that. I cannot leave Motown right now. For 2 (count 'em) two reasons!
>1. Old Man Kenrick and his beloved spouse are seriously on the exit ramp towards eternity. My sister says my Dad is essentially in hospice. He is on 150 mg of Fetanyl ever 3 days (patch) and has been suffering from COCD (?). The man is in heart failure. Has been for two solid years. But now he doesn't even go downstairs any longer. I honestly think his time is this summer. So, I want to be here for him.
>2. FoMoCo needs me. They don't seem to want me (10-15% more will be cut in the next 30-45 days) but I think they need me. Tough times in the auto industry. But I have made it through many - many a downturn and I hope to pull it off just one more time.
Assuming I have a job at the end of summer, then the fall is looking good to me.
I really wish I could go. Tell Brett F.'ing Reidy I said hello. Tell him, Coolness could be sold and we'd all still be cool about it. I so wish we could all 3 tell a story. There are so many to tell now..."Well, let me tell you a story..."
